Video Diary: Old TV makes me nostalgic

Written by By Staff Writer

The TVs on our ancient TVs have become quite an embarrassment. Every year, they are left on 24/7 — in part, so that young, hip-ass media types can switch between the channels and narrowcast their favorite TV program to all their friends. Sorry, B.A.S.S., America has just turned its TVs on to the next generation. America has had it with you.

Excess is usually a sign of exhaustion and hardship, but there is something incredibly tender and compelling about so many of us staying glued to our ancient TVs. We are gently mocking you all with our nostalgia for a bygone era. It’s like a little inside joke with your own grandparents.

TV OT can’t believe it’s been 8 years since we went through the unthinkable process of once again adjusting our cable feeds and accidentally turning over the classic American TV. Like it’s a tradition to watch an episode of “The Brady Bunch” on Thanksgiving. Yes, Marge, we all know that Greg and Joey will find each other at some point, but please, please, give us that.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving.
