Adele’s third album “25” has become the fastest-selling in both the US and the UK — in less than a week.
According to the Official Charts Company, Adele’s new album, her first full-length album since 2012’s “21,” sold more than 1.1 million copies by the end of June 19.

That makes the album the fastest-selling UK artist album, and in the US it became the fastest-selling album by a woman.
“25” is set to open at the top of the US Billboard 200 chart on Friday.
Adele’s new album 25 may be her comeback to mainstream music. She has shunned big commercial projects, instead going behind the microphone to become a Grammy Award-winning songwriter and soundtrack artist for films like “Skyfall” and “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1.”
But “25” is set to be Adele’s first full album since 2012’s “21.”
The album has been wildly popular on streaming services, with a whopping 3.6 million streams a day as of June 15.
The ability for artists to create songs simultaneously to over six billion streams is one reason for the success of “25.”
