Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani gives a running account of his signings to the Chronicle Herald

Following an inaugural Premier League season that saw them finish at the bottom of the league, Leeds United’s new owner Andrea Radrizzani has been busy in the transfer market.

Of the 80 new players signed by the club since buying the club from Ken Bates in April, two thirds have already been confirmed. In a column for the Chronicle Herald, Radrizzani highlighted five of the signings that he has taken in at the Championship side, and included photos of several of the new faces.

Radrizzani is delighted to announce that ahead of the new season, Leeds United are delighted to announce the signing of Joey Barton. Joey is one of the Premier League’s best ever players. He is also incredibly charming, and we plan to use him to help us gain a significant amount of new supporters. Photo by @aakermann at twitter.com/aakermann. Joey will start training with us on Friday and be on the pitch in three weeks. More changes to follow in the next few weeks.

But, while he is pleased with his new additions, he still has a lot of work to do. “The number of players we have taken in so far will not be enough in my opinion to jump straight into winning the Premier League title, but we are setting a very high objective. We have a huge target to make more signings.”

“Of course we want to get a group of the best players. Then it is an easy decision,” he said.

“I talked to some of the Manchester City players. What they did for Manchester City was amazing. They changed things in 10 months. Why can’t we do that? That’s what we’re aiming for, a team which can win the Premier League in a couple of years.”
